Victory in the Senate, Facilities Funding Passes, 39-0

Dear Advocates,

Just a few minutes before 7 pm this evening (Thursday 11/3), the Massachusetts Senate approved by a vote of 39-0 the Commonwealth Investment Plan, Senate 2256, including $250 million for cultural facilities funding over the next ten years, with approximately $25 million to be available in the first year.

We thank Senate President Robert Travaglini, Senate Ways and Means Chairwoman Therese Murray, Senator Jack Hart, Senator Stan Rosenberg and Senate Ways and Means Committee Vice-Chairman, Senator Steven Panagiotakos for their leadership in recognizing the value of state cultural facilities funding.

We thank the entire Senate for its near unanimous support for cultural facilities funding.

Our thanks to the over 1000 people across the Commonwealth who advocated effectively for the new Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund. The bill now moves to the Governor.

Thanks again,

Dan Hunter
