Save the Cultural Facilities Fund! Call Your State Representative Today to Co-Sponsor the Turkington Amendment!

April 18, 2008

Dear Friends,

MAASH and the MCC have been working diligently to assist our allies in the House to restore funding for the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund. Rep. Eric Turkington will file an amendment today seeking a $13 million appropriation. As of 8:30 this morning, MAASH and the MCC have recruited 19 co-sponsors for the amendment. (The list of co-sponsors is below.)

Please call your state representative to ask him or her become a co-sponsor of the Turkington Amendment to reauthorize and fund the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund. You can call the general State House number and ask for your representative by name. You will most likely be connected to an aide to whom you should make your request. This is as effective as talking to the legislator. To become a sponsor, the legislator or aide only need to contact Chairman Turkington's office.

Call 617-722-2000. If you don't know your representative's name, click here:

We would like to have as many sponsors as possible by the end of the day.

Thank you for your assistance.
