Cultural Facilities Fund Becomes Law!
Senate Votes 33-3 to Override Governor's Veto

Dear Friends,

The Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund is now law.

The Senate voted 33-3 to join the House in overriding Governor Romney’s veto of $13 million for the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund. The Campaign for Cultural Facilities thanks Senate President Robert Travaglini, Chairwoman Therese Murray, Chairman Jack Hart and Senator Stan Rosenberg for delivering a resounding message of support for cultural tourism and for the arts, sciences and humanities in Massachusetts.

This is a huge victory for the cultural community—not only to override the veto in both chambers but to achieve clear bipartisan support.

The work on the program guidelines will begin immediately and we will keep you informed on how and when applications will be accepted.

Thanks to all who advocated on behalf of the most significant cultural facilities funding program in the nation.

Sincerely,

Dan Hunter
