Dear Friends,

The House and Senate Joint Conference is meeting this week to decide final appropriations for FY 07 which begins July 1.

We have three line item appropriations that are subject to negotiation between the House and the Senate. Here are the line items and our requested funding levels which would bring the MCC total state funding to $12.05 million:

• John and Abigail Adams Arts Program (0640-0351) $2 million,
• $700,000 earmark for the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) that is contained in line item 7007-0900,
• and funding of $8.65 million for the main MCC line item, 0640-0300 – a level recommended by both the House and Senate.
